Our Team

Shirlon Austin, President/Founder

It's me again! I am a loving mom of two amazing children. I love spending time with my family, friends, and traveling. I was not surprised when God put the vision for Halo Babes Inc. on my heart. I have known that God had something unique in store for me. My passion for children, families, and serving others is deeply rooted in me. Halo Babes, Inc. is just the beginning of what God has in store for the future.

I am a wife and mother of one. I have worked for BSN SPORTS for 20 plus years as an SAP specialist. In working closely with my husband, a student minister, I see the importance of taking every opportunity God gives you to pour into kids' life. I believe that Halo Babes, Inc. is an extension of that God-given opportunity. I vow to do all I can to enrich a child's life to build them for the future.

Vernetta Hearn, Volunteer Coordinator

God first, self second, and family third. This is the wisdom given to me when as a young lady. I am a wife of 21 years, a mother, and a grandmother. I love family and fun. I graduated in December 2015 from UNT of Dallas. My degree is in human services, leadership, and management. I love serving and helping people. I am thrilled to be a part of Halo Babes, Inc.

Rhetta Uke, Secretary

Since I was a young girl, I have loved kids. I was the neighborhood babysitter. As I grew, I wanted a house full of kids. I had an opportunity to adopt and have my own children. In 2005, I began serving in youth programs to share my love for kids. I wholeheartedly believe in Halo Babes, Inc.'s work and want to give back to and change kids' lives everywhere.

Valencia Rhines, Treasurer

Greetings! My name is Valencia Rhines. I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. As a young adult, I always knew I would spend my life trying to help underprivileged youth. As an educator, I live out my life's dream daily. It is an honor to sit on the Board of Halo Babes, Inc. Halo Babes, Inc.'s mission and vision align with everything I believe in and are founded upon a vision God provided to its founder. It is humbling to be a part of this work.
